If you're looking for a cheap and cheerful way to brighten up your outside space, why not try a simple yet effective wall mural. I have a white wall surrounding my decking area, and while I try to create vibrancy with flowers and plants, the area can look a little bare (especially when the flowers start to wither). So I just mixed a little acrylic paint from my studio with some white masonry paint to get this nice soft grey colour and using a fine tip brush, got creative! I chose a simple design of long, slender stems and eye-catching starbursts, that are really effective and give good height and structure to the design. The grasses at the bottom connect the mural to the decking, as if it is actually growing out of the ground and the dragonfly adds that finishing touch! Simples :) I decided to go monochrome, to give it a 'shadow' effect, but you can use any colour you like to give your garden a year-round floral display. |
